We meet the new hero the Comet as he is patrolling a college campus and stops a band of thieves calling themselves the Techno Geeks. What were they trying to steal? A video game.
 On the darker side people are being killed in town in a manner that suggests that an old folklore has come to life. Is the killer the real "Apple Jack " or is it some copycat looking to make a name for himself.  His girlfriend, news reporter Victoria Johnson is hot on the trail of that story. We learn how the Comet got his powers and Victorias reaction to it. We never find out the Comets last name. Just his first ( Rob ), and we find out that the Applejack killer has his sights on Victoria as his next victim.
